Commander of the Malawi Defence Force (MDF), General Paul Velentino Phiri has applauded Msilikali Savings and Credit Cooperative (MSACCO) for the support that it renders towards different initiatives.
The sentiments were made during the opening ceremony of the MDF Annual Sports festival which happened at the Malawi Armed Forces College (MAFCO) in Salima district from 20th to 24th May 2004 of which MSACCO donated the amount of MK 3 million towards the event.
In his opening remarks, Phiri said MSACCO’s efforts do not go unnoticed, and they should consider extending their donations in the upcoming proceedings.
During the event, MSACCO set out its Pavilion so as to allow its members access different services like adjusting contributions, mobile banking registration, KYC registration and other member enquiries. Branded items were also up for grabs for referrals.
The sports event happens annually and this year soldiers competed in various games of football, netball, basketball, chess, hockey, Taekwondo, boxing, relay race, tag of war, body building and many others.
