Msilikali SACCO (MSACCO) an afiliate of Malawi Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives Ltd (MUSCCO), is a member owned and democratically controlled financial cooperative society that aims at providing quality and affordable financial services to its members; drawn from the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) and other Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Therefore, Msilikali SACCO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following positions tenable at its Head Office and branches
- Branch Manager – Zomba
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Branch Manager will be responsible for directing, coordinating and supervising all branch operations such as excellent member service, staff management, administration, security and compliance, and sales activities.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Ensure Branch profitability through growth of loans and commissions
- Manage Branch credit management systems
- Aggressive marketing to ensure growth of the Branch membership
- Prepare Branch Management Reports as per the stipulated timelines
- Management of risks- ensure internal controls, physical security of cash & SACCO Property and ensure overall adherence to the laid down policies at the his/her Branch
- Implementation of the staff targets and ensuring that the Branch targets are met
- Staff Management- maintain staff discipline, supervision, training, coaching and development
- Ensure that all required branch reconciliations are done accurately and in a timely manner
- Advise the General Manager on matters of the Branch and his/her region
- Ensure Good Customer Service at the branch at all times to ensure member satisfaction and retention
- Assist the marketing team to identifying and forwarding customer need to aid in developing attractive products & Services
- Enhancing Loan recoveries to ensure low Branch PAR
- Controls the utilization of, and ensuring proper maintenance and custody of all society assets at the branch.
- In liaison with operations/ finance department, ensure adequate branch liquidity and that there is enough cash at all paying points
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting / Administration / Banking and Finance, Marketing or equivalent from a recognized University
- 3 years working experience in financial industry
- Understanding of SACCO or Financial Cooperative business model
- Ability to motivate and lead employees
- Knowledge of Fin-Financials Core banking system or any banking system
- Great interpersonal skills and customer service.
- Quick decision-making and problem-solving abilities.
