Msilikali SACCO (MSACCO) an afiliate of Malawi Union of Savings & Credit Cooperatives Ltd (MUSCCO), is a member owned and democratically controlled financial cooperative society that aims at providing quality and affordable financial services to its members; drawn from the Malawi Defence Force (MDF) and other Government Ministries, Departments and Agencies (MDAs).
Therefore, Msilikali SACCO invites applications from suitably qualified candidates for the following position tenable at its Head Office and branches
Business Development & Member Engagement Manager – Head Office
Reporting to the CEO, shall be responsible for driving MSACCO’s growth through strategic member acquisition, innovative product design, and the delivery of an exceptional member experience.
Duties and Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement annual business growth plans to expand the SACCO’s market share and asset base.
- Identify and penetrate new markets/common bonds to expand the SACCO’s membership base.
- Develop and execute the SACCO’s annual marketing and promotional calendar.
- Drive aggressive member recruitment drives and outreach programs to meet monthly and annual targets.
- Implement a robust Customer Relationship Management (CRM) strategy to track member interactions.
- Develop and enforce a Service Level Agreement (SLA) to ensure queries and complaints are resolved within set timelines.
- Plan and implement member education and financial education programs.
- Ensure all members (existing and new) fully understand MSACCO’s bylaws, interest rates, and the benefits of various products.
- Evaluate the impact of member education programs and recommend improvements.
- Represent the CEO on the Education Committee of the Board, providing technical expertise and updates of the department workplan
- Prepare periodic (monthly & quarterly) reports on business development, member growth, member engagement, product & service performance, marketing ROI
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Marketing, Finance, Economics or a related field.
- Professional certification in Cooperative Management or Marketing is an added advantage.
- Minimum of 3–5 years’ experience in a SACCO, financial institution, or similar role.
- Experience in business development, customer service, or member relations.
- Strong leadership and people management skills
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Sales, marketing, and relationship management abilities
- Analytical and report-writing skills
- Knowledge of SACCO operations and cooperative principles
- High level of integrity and professionalism
