
Msilikali SACCO successfully held its 8th Annual General Meeting (AGM) on 27th March 2026 at Linde Hotel in Mponela, under the theme “Fortifying Stability and Scaling Outreach.” The event drew delegates from across the region including key stakeholders, Chief Executive Officers from various SACCOs and other invited guests, reflecting the institution’s continued growth and relevance within the cooperative financial sector.
Presiding over the occasion as Guest of Honour was Major General Elias Kapalamula, MDF Chief of Human Resource Management and Development. In his remarks, He commended Msilikali SACCO for its steady growth and resilience, noting its significant contribution to the welfare of Malawi Defence Force personnel.
He further highlighted that the welfare of MDF personnel has improved significantly, partly due to the impact of the MSACCO, and applauded its role in promoting financial discipline through a strong savings culture.
Also speaking at the event was Mrs Jacinta Chipando, Registrar of Cooperatives in the Ministry of Industrialization, Business Trade and Tourism. She underscored the ongoing efforts to promote community SACCOs as a means of expanding access to financial services. Her remarks emphasized the importance of cooperative institutions in advancing financial inclusion and fostering inclusive economic development.
Anchored on the 2025 theme, the AGM event reaffirmed Msilikali SACCO’s commitment to strengthening institutional stability whilst expanding its outreach in order to serve more members effectively.
